You've just splurged on that expensive cleanser that every beauty blogger is raving about and you're hoping to get similar results. You want this cleanser to deep clean your skin and get rid of every bit of gunk in your pores. But it can be difficult to decide how well your cleanser is working. Here is the easiest way to tell if your cleanser is giving you squeaky, clean skin (and another reason to invest in a toner).
What You'll Need:
A Cotton Pad
Your Favorite Toner
After you finish using your favorite cleanser, use a cotton pad to apply toner all over your face. Now take a closer look at your cotton pad. If your cotton pad picks up dirt, that means your face is not thoroughly cleansed. If your cotton pad is clean, that means your skin is fully cleansed and you can move onto the next step of your skincare routine. It's as simple as that!
Even though I know my cleansing routine is working, I still like to use a toner right after for reassurance that my skin is clean. Besides preparing my skin for serums and moisturizer, I like to leave behind any doubt that my cleanser isn't effective. Bonus: If you use a toner with rosewater or cucumber extract, it feels nice and refreshing. Especially if it's a particularly warm day or if you've just had an intense workout.
